Campesino Origin Experience

Come experience Colombia with us

*Currently only available to our roaster clients.

Our origin trips are tailored to meet each of our clients desires to include cupping of our available micro-lots at our Medellin coffee lab, visits to two of our producers farms, and plenty more.  Lodging is available at our three bedroom, three and half bath Medellin apartment and at our producers farm houses.  Come experience Colombia like you would have never imagined.

We have teamed up with a couple of our producing partners to be able to offer an authentic origin experience.  Our guests would arrive in Medellin, Colombia’s second largest city and 2013 most innovative city in the world (Urban Land Institute).  Lodging would be at Campesino’s 3 bedroom, 3.5 bathroom apartment which is fully equipped and centrally located in a safe and touristy sector of Medellin.  Our beautiful cupping lab is attached to the apartment, allowing for a comfortable yet professional cupping experience.  Depending on our client’s desires, farm visits would be planned accordingly, to include a full “you be the coffee farmer” experience.  This experience would include cherry picking, weighing of the cherries, wet-mill processing, drying of the parchment, and a full tour of the farm(s).  Lodging is available at our partner’s farms and are fully equipped to host our guests.  Contact us to start planning your origin experience trip!

Testimonials

“To make the connection between coffee professional and coffee farm/farmer is to enhance one’s knowledge of the product we work with day in and day out.  We were able to have a better understanding of the depth of work and the people involved in creating beautiful coffee because Campesino coffee, our export partner, understands how important it is for the hands involved at different steps of the coffee chain, to shake hands.  To know one another and to create a connection.  Because that is all this business really is at the end of the day, people connecting through coffee.”

“As a small roasting company, it’s easy to take for granted where the Green Coffee we roast comes from. Daniel at Campesino Specialty was very accommodating and knowledgeable not only about the Coffees of Colombia but also about the people and culture involved in bringing that Coffee to others. From cupping new Coffees at sunset in Medellìn to the morning cup with Gustavo at El Ocaso overlooking Rìo Quindìo, the experiences I had were as smooth as the specialty Coffee Colombia is known for. Why are you still reading this? Get down here already! ”

“Our trip to Colombia was thoughtfully customized from beginning to end!  Since the logistics and itinerary were seamless, we were able to travel without worry and really connect with the farms, their families, and surrounding communities.  Down to where we ate in the city or small towns, we were immersed in the culture of Colombia like locals, but able to analyze the growing economy of restaurants and cafes like coffee professionals.”

“Daniel from Campesino was a great host, his drive to find the best coffees around is really obvious. Campesino is perfect for roasters who want great quality coffee and care about where it comes from.”

Charlie Guest

Production Manager, Vigilante Coffee Company

“Having never really established a solid interest in Coffee, I approached my introduction to Campesino as a educational experience. Needless to say my passion was found sampling some of their varietals while enjoying the skyline of Medellin. Maybe it was the combination of venue and technique that made it the best cup of my life, but the romance had begun and it changed my life.”

“Daniel’s overall friendliness and knowledge of the farms we visited made the trip so enjoyable. Definitely put my perspective of coffee into full circle; one of the best experiences I’ve had thus far! .”
