DSC00516 Coffee is life for so many, and no, I’m not just talking about those of us who can’t function without our morning cup of joe. I’m talking about the hard working men and women at the farm level who work passionately, day in and day out, embracing the coffee culture and with the understanding that their hard work and meticulous attention to detail does not go unnoticed. This understanding is something Campesino SC strives to make clear to our coffee producing family, and one of the ways we do this is by giving back to the local community, starting with the kids!

Campesino Specialty Coffee has “adopted” a small elementary school located in the “Vereda Palestina” in the town of Salento, Colombia. The DSC00499small school educates many of the children of the men and women who work on our farm, El Ocaso, and many other neighboring farms. We flew down with suitcases full of backpacks containing school supplies, clothing, hygienic products, and of course, some of our favorite candies (what kid doesn’t like candy!). This is in an effort to give back to the local community that is as much a part of our local community here at home. We live in a Global world and must give back to those who give to us, it comes and goes in full cycle.

We are grateful for the high quality specialty coffee, which is the result of hard work and dedication, and that has brightened the mornings of so many of us. To the men and women of our coffee farms and their local community, we give you thanks!
